Thank you for taking the time and effort to more closely consider the issues relating to the Preservation and Rehabilitation for Adaptive Reuse of the Historic Crescent City School!
We suggest you begin by clicking the Executive Overview below for a brief overview. For the entire report of the Blue Ribbon Committee, please select the Full Executive Briefing. Within that document you will see blue links that will take you to information in the appendix, if desired.
Update:
We would like to thank everyone who showed up to support the Blue Ribbon Committee at the Feb. 25th, 2025, meeting. It was standing room only! Every public comment was in favor of the project. Unfortunately, the City Commission did not decide to endorse moving the project forward at this time.
Thank you for your interest and support for this important effort. You are making a difference in the future of our community!
The Blue Ribbon Committe has been reconstituted as the BRC2.0, an independent grass roots committee of the Fruitland Peninsual Historical Society (FPHS).
The BRC2.0 is working closely with Putnam County staff to promote the concept of the property now being acquired by the County for adaptive reuse as a public facility to serve the residents of the Fruitland Peninsula.
To date, County staff have met several times with the School District to advance this initiative.
A tremendous amount of preparatory architectural and engineering work has been completed to date. Click on the links below to learn more about the vision to preserve the historic school for adaptive reuse as a civic and cultural center serving all residents of Putnam County.
