Lisa Kane DeVitto
Board MemberLisa is a third-generation Crescent City resident. Her grandparents were Dr. B.E. Kane and Ruth Wade Kane, who were active in the local community for many years. She is a retired attorney. She received her B.A. in History from Brown University. She then received her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law. She is currently serving as City Commissioner for Crescent City. She also serves on the Florida League of Cities (FLC) Committee on Advocacy, and a Policy Committee. She was recognized as an FLC “Home Rule Hero” in 2021 and 2022.
Lisa has a lifelong interest in arts, culture, nature and historic preservation. Her first volunteer “job” as a child was helping out at the Crescent City Woman’s Club library. She is currently a member of the Woman’s Club, Rotary Club, and First Presbyterian Church, in Crescent City.
Her past civic and professional service includes the Florida Bar Public Interest Law Section, Executive Council and Chair; Board member/ President, Davis Islands Civic Association, Tampa, FL; Tampa Garden Club. She was a past member of the Crescent City Trees and Gardens Board; State of Florida Council on Homelessness; and the Florida Substance Abuse and Mental Health Corporation.
She married Ralph A. DeVitto in 1989 at First Presbyterian Church in Crescent City. Ralph is a nonprofit health executive, currently CEO and President of the American Brain Tumor Association. Their home is a contributing structure to the city’s National Register of Historic Place’s Historic District.
